Well, I’m nothing if not consistant. This is turning into a bit of an annual event, fingers crossed I wont be moving again in another 12 months…

Due to some ‘business manuvers’ that are afoot within Domnick Hunter, I dont feel quite as secure here as I would like given the fact I’ll be a parent somewhere in the middle of this year. Knowing that very shortly you’re going to have the responcibility of providing for your child is a very sobering thought and it was really all the push I needed to decide that it was time to move on, again.

This time I’m off to Nonlinear Dynamics, based in Newcastle, right next to 55deg North. Its basically the same sort of stuff as I do now, just for a different company with a different set of clients and different needs. Hopfully its going to be everything I’m expecting, from what I’ve seen so far it will be.

I finsh at DH on Friday 13th of Jan (which I hope isnt an omen!) and start at NL on the following monday.

Ok stop laughing, yes, there is a yo-yo world championship just like theres a world championship for every other pass-time most people gave up in their early teens.

I remember a long summer in the late 80’s where coca-cola, sprite and fanta branded yo-yo’s were all the rage, although I got a cheap rate copy, I managed to sucessfully make it go up and down a few times, could sort of do ‘walking the dog’ and used to regularly hit myself in the eye while trying to ‘rock the baby’. Thats about where my involvement with spinning things on strings ended, but if only i’d have carried on, I might have been as good as these people.

I just found out Sam the ugly dog died last monday (14th nov) so I thought I should mention it since I put his website up a while ago.

CNN.com has a decent report on it and a video of sam himself (while still alive obviously!) which is worth watching for the odd people the reporter interviews on the streets. I especially liked the guy in the captains hat and tatty green Hawaiian shirt, stylish!
